COVID-19 Update

An update for our loyal supporters: PARCA’s 2023 Devil’s Slide Ride Is Cancelled.

The Devil’s Slide Ride and Run have been a labor of love for us, and we deeply appreciate your support over the last decade.

While the past two years have stretched our staff capacity to the limit, we are overjoyed that the 1,000 people with developmental disabilities and their families that we serve are well, safe, and thriving.

However, our Board and PARCA management had to take a realistic look at our ability to produce these events this year. Our dedicated staff has been working overtime since the shutdown, and are stretched thin. It takes about a hundred additional volunteers to put on our event and COVID is still a deterrent to recruiting them, and keeping our client volunteers, many of whom have compromised immune systems, safe. We explored scaling down the events, but we’d actually lose money by doing so.

We have not yet made any decisions about events next year. We have learned to expect the unexpected and adapt quickly.

We will keep you posted and hope that you will support us in the future.
Thank you for your past support of our events and for helping people with developmental disabilities!

The Devil’s Slide Ride Benefitting PARCA

Ride the most scenic routes in Northern California, while supporting more than 1,000 individuals with developmental disabilities. The DSR features three routes that offer something for everyone, from weekend warriors to hard-core endurance cyclists. Each distance features breath-taking coastal vistas, fearsome mountain climbs, rolling hills, winding backroads and best-in-class support.

The Devil’s Slide events also feature a devilishly fun and challenging trail running race.

The Century From Hell

Named one of NorCal’s top 10 centuries, this ride packs a whopping 9,251 feet of climbing into this beautiful and tough 101-mile course. This ride has it all — jaw-dropping coastal vistas, punishing mountain climbs through ancient redwood groves, crystalline reservoirs and pristine watershed areas — the very best that NorCal has to offer!

The Merciless Metric Century

This fun, devilish 64-mile ride has 5,500 feet of elevation gain that takes you down the spectacular San Mateo County coastline with stunning ocean views, up winding mountain trails, past ancient redwoods and back through heavenly watershed areas. World-class support and fully-stocked aid stations await all riders.

The Fiendish Forty Miler

Get off the beaten path by exploring the peaceful and picturesque countryside and taking a trip along the San Mateo County coastline where you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. With a moderate elevation gain, the course offers a fun challenge for riders of all levels. As a bonus, you can catch a ride on our free shuttle on a section of Highway 1!

“This has got to be one of the best rides I’ve been on. Can’t beat the coastal views and lush trees. Overall, it is one of the best organized rides in Northern California…and most importantly, the cause is exceptional.”
